Lord of the Rings: Ramble On – Led Zeppelin
A music video I made, consisting of the song "Ramble On" by one of my favorite bands, Led Zeppelin, and scenes from Ralph Bakshi's 1978 film adaptation of "The Lord of the Rings".
A music video I made, consisting of the song “Ramble On” by one of my favorite bands, Led Zeppelin, and scenes from Ralph Bakshi’s 1978 film adaptation of “The Lord of the Rings”.
Yep! Ralph Bakshi had attempted to make two films based on the lord of the
Rings after United Artists had told him he couldn’t make a trilogy.
Definitely not as comprehensive or fleshed-out as Jackson’s movies, but it
was the first version I saw, so I like it.
Boy, you Americans sure are afraid of the entertainment industry lawsuits
and the henchmen of the ent. industry, the FBI. Keep walking around with
your tails between your legs.
That’s what the progress bar is for – just have the friends with the
attention span of a gnat skip the disclaimer. Disclaimers are supposed to
go at the beginning… at least he didn’t have it on the bottom of the
video the whole time.
Fun fact: Bakshi originally wanted Led Zeppelin to do all of the music for
the film, but due to record label complications, he settled on an
orchestral score.
To the uploader: PLEASE clip the first 22 seconds of the video. I really
like this and want to share it but my friends have short attention spans.
They will close it when they see how it starts. You can put that at the end.
I always thought: “Why can’t they use some Led Zeppelin in these movies?” I
thought it was really cool to hear Ralph Bashki originally wanted Led
Zeppelin. I understand, the Peter Jackson flicks have a different kind of
score. Rock music wouldn’t quite fit in. But then again, they could throw
in a song at the end credits. Or how about rearanging the songs, like an
orchetral version of the Battle of Evermore. That would be awesome!
Fuck you, and yes I love it!
All nerd fans of the Jackson films have been fooled. Even I thought he
meant the Jackson films.
