Okay, i’m not saying this song is bad or anything, but I don’t see how this
is one of the best of all time. For one, the slow part of the song is way
too dragged out. There was no need for it to be 4 and a half minutes long
and it just got boring and almost put me to sleep. Another thing is the
solo, it’s also regarded as one of the best solos of all time. But I’ve
heard solos miles better than this such as Megadeth’s Hangar 18. And
lastly, the song is overplayed as fuck on the radio. Again, i’m not saying
the song is bad, but it is extremely overrated.

So many people asking why this song is regarded as one of the bests. Well
music, as all art is, is a subjective thing, and greatness depends greatly
on popular opinion. So it’s one of the bests just because it’s regarded as
such. Are there more musically perfect songs from a Technical music theory
standpoint? maybe. And are there many songs and musicians over-hyped and
have their statuses mainly due to pandering to the LCD? most definitely so.
Mozart is oft regarded as a musical genius, but I doubt many of you here
would care much for his sonata’s.
And with all the different musical genres not everybody is going to agree
with some acclamations of “bestness”
For example, A lover of thrasher metal might not find this song all that
great.
Regardless, within the Rock genre of music this song is regarded as one of
the bests. A claim I believe not without merit.
