Frankincensed says:

One of the things I love about musicians back-in-the-day, as they say, is
their depth of intelligence and oft times class. If you listen to many from
the epic 70s bands (Floyd, Zep, Queen, ELP, Rush, Genesis, King Crimson,
etc.) you often hear very well thought-out analysis and insight, so much of
which is lacking today.

Badguitar says:

thanks for publishing, but couldn’t the camera operator have shown the
photos that were being discussed?

PGeorge61 says:

Ya so right. These people have no idea what they’re doing! Horrible camera
assignments, and appears to be no post editing. You think one of the stupid
ass camera operators would have thought, “Gee, maybe we should get a shot
of what Jimmy is looking at?!?! Ya think?!?!!! I didn’t really want to give
this a thumbs down, because it Jimmy fucking Page!!! But it was very hard
to watch this disaster!

theycallmejpj says:

i wanna hear about his 25 year old girlfriend

absolute genius in a band of geniuses (genii??)

Tricky311 says:

The first time I heard Led Zeppelin, I was 14 years old, and my friend
played me his older brother’s album. It was the fourth album and hearing
Black Dog crank through those speakers changed my life. Best rock band
ever! Jimmy, in my opinion is tied Jimi Hendrix for best guitarist of all
time. Both are/were masters of their craft and did things never done
before, profoundly influencing all subsequent guitarists. Mr. Page,
however, created Led Zeppelin by picking Robert, Bonzo, and Jones to creat
the band of all bands. Really wish Robert old agree to one last World tour.
Jason deserves the opportunity to play for his dad, and Bonzo would expect
his friend to do it.

Arin Kambitsis says:

One of the few examples of the lead guitar player eclipsing the lead
singer.

Kevin Lukas says:

Some people say Jimmy sold his soul to the devil to play guitar like a god.
I just think it’s a god-given talent. Look at Pèle, one of football’s
greatest players. Pèle didn’t sell his soul to the devil to play football
that well. He just practiced for endless hours every day. Jimmy did the
same. Just because someone is a god at something, it doesn’t mean that they
sold their soul to the devil to be that great.

oakenshanks says:

they dont show you the pictures….because they want you to go buy the
book…. not hard to figure….

Utopija says:

Thanks for sharing this!

resqfireman1 says:

I’ll go out on a limb, and answer the favorite guitar/amp combo for Jimmy:
his ’59 Les Paul that he got from Joe Walsh, and Marshall amps.

Haze says:

I always and still do think he looks slightly Asian haha. Not sure why.

Steven Zore says:

If I could meet only one famous person in the world, it would probably be
Jimmy Page.

highspeedtubing says:

Jimmy. You must immediately go and find Robert Plant and stop him from
doing any more of those shitty Zep covers all over the place. I will not
be able to listen to your records ever again if I see another one. Do it
for us kids Mr. Page.

Liquid bend says:

Jimmy page …the master

thisismusic says:

a few cheeky lines of marching powder beforehand methinks

semiLivedj says:

Jimmy ” If you like” Page. The master of perception perfection.

thisismusic says:

no mention of the 13 year old groupies he took advantage of no??!

spanky stone says:

i dont know if its nervousness or if he is high…but christ does he ever
play with his nose alot here…ive never seen him do this and ive seen
hundreds of interviews of his…Even when he was fucked up.

penzman says:

Used to play a bow on electric bass, but it was dedicated for that as the
amber you put on the bow would make the strings so grippy/sticky you just
couldn’t play finger bass over the pick -ups are anymore, the powder would
be all over the place.

Peter Oliva says:

He looks magnificent. Thank you Jimmy for many hours of entertainment

Paul Flook says:

Interesting that he doesn’t talk about his drug addiction or Bonham’s death
(and is not asked about it). Perhaps another reason why he opted for a
pictorial autobiography.

Tyler Vanner says:

The 28 people that disliked this are Phil Collins. I think the pics were
purposely not shown as I am guessing this whole interview was to plug a
book he has had published that contains said images ? And he discusses the
fact that he had a lot of work cut out in trying to find photographers and
to be able to use their shots without having a lawsuit trying to sue him.
And maybe the pictures not shown were probably under strict conditions.
Some photographers are very strict regarding their rights. SO probably a
legal thing. But what it’s saying really is … Go buy the book. He could
of signed off with the Legend that is Jimmy Page.

louis chevallier says:

at 52:59 jimmy is doing a fuck to the presentator , such a man !

gwwayner says:

Shocking to see the rock gods getting old. Back in the day we were
immortal; chants like ‘Don’t trust anyone over 30’ and ‘Hope I die before I
get old’ etc. When we were young life was an eternity ahead of you, we
didn’t realize that the older you get the faster time goes by on an
accelerating curve culminating in the grave. IMO, musically-speaking, the
most creative years are from ages 20-40, the brain becoming too ossified
past that to shine brightly again. The compensation is wisdom.

Easyandy100 says:

No photos without payment.

GreenmanXIV says:

Jimmy, just sit on your hands. and tell us about the.Aleister Crowley, and
the Atlantis Book Shop time.

Jay Suschrist says:

Guardian, nice work on this one. When I am watching an interview with a
legend who is talking about his photo autobiography, I certainly don’t want
to be distracted by any of the photos they’re talking about…. THAT WOULD
JUST BE WEIRD.

john doe says:

why is Page so fidgety?

bocobob says:

Jimmy needs to stop talking and start playing. This media blitz is getting
old. He say the same thing over and over. One or two interviews is good
,now it’s very redundant. Pick up the Les Paul and play before it’s too
late Jimmy.

Robert Brennan says:

The commercials on You Tube have ruined it. It will soon be replaced.

Sungodv says:

Too bad we can’t see the pictures.

winterlandboy says:

I couldn’t watch this .The whole show they are looking at photos and show
none.That angered me. Bollocks

bb lang says:

First time I heard Led I was about 5yrs old and heard whole lotta love, and
the middle part scared the shot out of me it sounded to me a little kid
like the bottom of hell very Erie!

tomff00 says:

Song Remains the Same is one of my favorite albums of all time. Around 37:00,
It definitely wasn’t a missed opportunity! Amazing versions of No
Quarter, Rain Song and Song the Remains the Same. They don’t get much
better.

Jeff Young says:

1:29:57
I’m ready for Part 2 !

Tobias Bradley says:

you’d think that they’d show us the images they’re talking about!!

Privacy Guru says:

Said it all , when the interviewer said: “..Ladies and Gentlemen, the Great
Jimmy Page…”
I feel blessed by GOD to have been alive as Led Zeppelin Evolved from
obscurity into Eternal Legend..

Sofan Donovan says:

touching nose is one of Jimmy’s habit. haha

Robcat C says:

The photos referred to by both Mr. Paige, and host, should have been
shown—paid for. Photography is not only art, but a historical record. If
Mr. Paige, and the producing company wanted to ‘preserve’ the history of
Led Zeppelin/Jimmy Paige here, cinematically, they should have shared the
credit with their brethren—the photographers, who recorded the history of
which they speak, for heaven’s sake.

Glarrg says:

Can’t answer “1” question straight.

Kim Deleon says:

A look back at a powerful press event held last month.

Isabella Grace says:

I’m just in to 4 minutes of this video and can not imagine why the camera
person did not at least give us a glimpse of the picture(s) on the screen
to which Jimmy is referring. We know what he looks like and what he looks
like talking. Pan away for a few seconds, at least, and let us see the
picture at which JP is point and looking and to which the audience is
privy. 10 minutes and still no glimpse of any picture.

GriefTourist says:

I was there!

Jerry Myers says:

Since I’ll never get to talk to him myself this is the next best
thing….thanks youtube and thanks to Guardian Membership.

Wes Van Kley says:

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy :)

Electroelectro says:

interview guy is awkward as fuck with all the quirky, standard remarks
