Yes! And the way it reaches fruition at 5:24 has always left me in a
complete state of emotional bliss like nothing else experienced in my time,
from that point at each riff before the chorus and each break after, Jimmy
Page has me held in some kind of a trance while his antics get more
intense..spellbinding and fearful….until the end of the song and the
spell is broken as he holds his Les Paul over his head and out in front of
him toward the audience/victims…..

There may be plenty of other insanely skilled guitar players who were
active during Led-Zeppelin’s time. Some whomever reads this comment may
feel are better guitar players. But in my opinion, Jimmy Page is the
greatest guitarist of this era.
Robert seduces like the Devil himself, Jimmy fingers crawl around the fret
board like a spider, John Paul Jones’ nimble fingers dance all over the
keyboard, while he pumps his feet on the bass pedals below & John Bonham
goes from a delicate touch on the drums/rims to thumping with authority &
switches back & forth from playing along with the guitar & then to holding
down the rhythm down. Bonham particularly follows the guitar during the
lead guitar solo. The song is dynamics, sexy, bluesy & relentless. What
critics say about this film is irrelevant & even what the band members
think of it is irrelevant to me. It’s an awesome performance.
why they ever felt the need to “remake” this song is beyond me. I think
this is the best version.
