lately? They just keep pumping out useless shit that people wanna call
music.The singers do nothing but constantly project an endless monotone
WHINE to a sound that you can’t even physically get into a groove
with.Popular music just has been on a steep downhill slide that started in
the late seventies early eighties.I refuse to purchase newly released music
unless its a band of the seventies early eighties like
Skynyrd,Aerosmith,and the like.Now this thing called RAP. Its not music
people.REALLY BAD POETRY TO A DRUMBEAT put together by disgruntled people
who feel they have an axe to grind with THE MAN. Well the man made them
rich so I guess REVENGE is SWEET.

Surgido de uma adaptação dos “rhythm and blues”, o “rock and roll” obteve
uma forte aceitação por parte da juventude, muito crítica face à sociedade
adulta norte-americana do pós-guerra.
O rock nasceu de uma atitude “anti” por parte da juventude relativamente
aos valores dos seus antepassados, constitui um dos mais importantes
movimentos sócio-culturais do século XX. Com o rock, a música deixa de ser
“propriedade” das classes dominantes e passa a ser do povo. Apesar de ser a
música por excelência da juventude, não é exclusiva dela (muitos dos seus
intérpretes ultrapassam os 40 anos).
Constitui um dos pilares da contestação juvenil, mas simultaneamente se
converteu em um dos instrumentos para a integração dos jovens quando o
sistema social assimila ou “comercializa” os seus protestos.
Embora a expressão “rock and roll” tenha aparecido em 1951, só em 1955, com
o tema “Rock Around The Clock”, de Bill Haley, o novo estilo musical
conquistou a emancipação.
