“Kashmir” is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin from their sixth album Physical Graffiti, released in 1975. All four members of Led Zeppelin have agreed that “Kashmir” is one of their best musical achievements. Unquestionably the most startling and impressive track on Physical Graffiti, and arguably the most progressive and original track that Led Zeppelin ever recorded. ‘Kashmir’ went a long way towards establishing their credibility with otherwise sceptical rock critics. Many would regard this track as the finest example of the sheer majesty of Zeppelin’s special chemistry.
Used to smoke mad trees to this song sittin’ round the house in my boxer
draws with my dog on my lap playin’ Alex Kidd in Miracle World til my eyes
bled and my brain seeped onto the floor.
Growing up in the 70s, this album was it for me. Remember being totally
baked to this song…
The whole inspiration came from the fact that the road went on and on and
on. It was a single-track road which neatly cut through the desert. Two
miles to the East and West were ridges of sandrock. It basically looked
like you were driving down a channel, this dilapidated road, and there was
seemingly no end to it. ‘Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to
fill my dreams…’ It’s one of my favourites…that, ‘All My Love’ and ‘In
the Light’ and two or three others really were the finest moments. But
‘Kashmir’ in particular. It was so positive, lyrically.
I was born in 99, this was the first song i ever heard
изысканный музыкальный вкус!
reminds me of times spent with someone who was very special to me.

Led Zeppelin just gives you those feel good goose bumps, you can just feel
the music. They’re seductive in their honest rhythm, movement, and sound.

The song is perfection, by the band that defines perfection in rock.
Kashmir never grows old…if you listen to it 100 times, it just makes you
want to listen to it 100 more.
A dissapointment in 1975, the song ages well though…. 🙂 Wow, 38 years
ago.
can it really get any better than this – nope – pure greatness
