**RECOMMENDED** This is a video showing the drum pattern on Led Zeppelin's BLACK DOG. Please see my earlier video (from last year) showing the outro of the tune. (See my other videos).

Really love your videos Terry and they serve as a reminder that even after
40 years of playing drums, there’s stil something new to learn. It’s funny
that even though I saw Zeppelin In the 1970’s and was really into the
band, I never really appreciated JB’s playing and the sheer impact of his
influence on other top players until many years later. It’s a tragedy that
his dependence on alcohol made him such a Jekyll & Hyde personality and
ultimately led to his early death. Great that you keep his memory alive.
These drums need tuning and (sorry man)….you kind of suck….
I would go watch other people’s versions of black dog…for example
daviddrums or meytal cohen’s (recently censored),,,,,,I would not try to
teach if I were you but I’d try to improve myself….but if it makes you
feel good keep posting these crummy videos….
On the topic of Black Dog. Carmine Appice messed the whole song up…have
you seen this bozoleum? What do you think of this? The 1st time watching
Carmine mess this song up, I thought he needs lessons from Bonzoleum! What
do you think of this video I’m showing you? Here’s the youtube link…. Carmine

1) It is said that the atomic clock in Colorado gets its timing from John
Bonham
2) His syncopated sonic symphony is credited with inspiring the exhaust
notes of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and Citroen GT.
I add the new 2015 Dodge Challenger “Hellcat”, 600+ horsies under da hood!
Just a heads up about what you said about “Jimmy Page” and his *cough*
lawyer types, hahaha: I’m not an American but I think you can use the music
for teaching under fair use law. Look it up, it’ll make your lessons EVEN
better!
As I’m watching this a Led Zeppelin Celebration Day commercial come on the
tv near the computer. Coolest thing ever! Great video Bonzoleum, helped out
alot!
Hi, Your vids are great. Very entertaining and informative. Everything I’ve
seen so far is spot on – except Black Dog. There are a couple things you’re
missing. You might want to give a closer listen. I’ve been doing what
you’ve been doing for a long time as well. Not trying to nitpick since it
makes no difference, but I would want the constructive criticism. Keep on
rockin’ and have a great day! Greg
I have 5 kits toral baut many odds & ends drums. Growing up I enjoyed
practicing he triplet quite a bit! That’s all one needs to do-do it over
and over and over again.
You’re anything but a buffoon. I haven’t had time to sit down with the
song, but during the middle part where Plant’s singing “oh baby, pretty
baby” he alternates the snare (on the 1 ta), so he plays it every other
“ta”, not every one. He plays the kick there instead. Also, during the
chorus when he’s playing on the bell he’s hitting the second tom and kick
at the same time. Give it a listen. I’m at work so I can’t get too deep,
but if you listen I’m sure you’ll hear it. Cheers!
Wow your tribute band was detailed, even down to the squeaky pedal! I’m
joking of course, but good job man you’ve helped me progress a lot in my
drumming so I have an endless amount of gratitude for you.
e an duh 1 e an 2 Listening to the live performances, Robert uses a strong
sense of 4/4 time to emphasize the lyric cadence which brings the band back
together. I don’t pay much attention to the studio except as a reference
for what is an essential platform to a song which was constantly evolving.
Bonham did many variations of parts within the song according to prevailing
moods and circumstances. Good tutorial, thanx!
I remember a guy at guitar center showing me that 404 – he said, play ‘what
is and what should never be in your head.’ he started playing the ride and
I was the most impressed with a cymbal that I have ever been.
I got to be honest, this video is hilarious, but VERY helpful! This is
exactly what I was looking for to figure out a couple parts to the song.
Thanks for the instructional.
Brother, you are obviously a good drummer, but you gotta play the song to
the music playing… Your comments are great, but teaching the rhythm and
then the fills to your voice? Greatly interested in your tips but the
singing lost me after about two minutes…..It just seemed unprofessional
and not nearly as instructive as it would have been had you had the actual
song playing. Sorry, but I call them as I see them ..
Cool! How long have you played Zep, and how many kits do you have in total?
I’m working on this song now, and some of the tips you give = awesome (the
fill after the “ah-ah” part the first time is genius, never thought of
playing it that way)! How long have you practiced those triplets? Great
work!
@bonzoleum Great question! As a drummer I was going to ask this as well.
How did you do it with the Zep tribute band Terry? Did you do a stick click
count in as well? How does Bonham do it live?
Hello. Your videos have been very helpful. At the end of Black Dog on the
How The West Was Won cd Bonzo does a solo that I cannot figure out. Do you
have a video for that? Thanks very much for your help & your instructions.
He sounds like a retard.
999999999999 billion thumbs up for terry…keep its up for Bonzo alive
man… u r truly understanding who is r really LEDZEPPELIN…& JOHN HENRY
BONHAM…

3) ‘Moby Dick’ was used to dig the Chunnel by blasting away the earth.
4) His subtle timing and delicate wrists made 3 legendary Jazz drummers
envious.
5) His right foot was used as a pile driver to drill for oil in the North
Atlantic.
6) His 30 minute drum solo once registered a 4.5 on the Richter scale
during a concert in Germany in March 1973.
7) He once outplayed the entire percussion section of the London
Philharmonic Orchestra while simultaneously eating a sandwich in his right
hand.
8) Mathematicians have studied his timing to better understand pure math.
9) All rock drummers threw away their sticks in 1969 after hearing the
first Led Zeppelin album.
10) His double bass attack was outlawed on 6 continents.
11) God has ‘Achilles Last Stand’ set as the ringtone on his mobile phone.
12) He coined the term “thrutch”
13) His Hertfordshire steers had better rhythm than any other animals in
the UK
14) ‘When the Levee Breaks’ is the the national anthem in the South Sudan.
15) Recordings of his footsteps are sampled today.
16) Certain rare South American birds changed their mating calls to emulate
his ching ring.
17) His great-grandchildren will be born with perfect rhythm and perfect
pitch.
18) His shadow is in color and larger than Ginger Baker’s
Thanks again Terry for all of your great videos!
You make me smile whenever I watch your videos.

Many people goes up on stage to pay a tribute to Led Zeppelin and just
makes shit. This is, in fact, a true tribute to Led, and Bonham, especially.
lead vocalist right there haha nice video
Such a great voice! 01:25 (but really thanks for video it helped me!)

@rockit1985 It’s not in straight time really. You can hear Bonham use a
stick click to indicate when the drums/music are about to begin.
you look like such a twat but good video
I like the bass drum sounds on the Iron Maiden records!
muchas gracias!!!desde montevideo uruguay!!!! bonzo fan!!
I found your acting in the video hilarous! And it was very helpful, thank
you!

I got to be honest, this video is hilarious, but VERY helpful! This is

Thanks for the instructional.
Check out this video on You Tube (type into YT search Black Dog *Rare* Led
Zeppelin Outtake/Rehearsal ) and you’ll hear what I’m talking about about.
You sing like ozzy haha
what guitar pedal do you use in your voice? ehhe
@volumecorps Thank you!

Eddie Van Halen is playing drum!
@bonzoleum Great question! As a drummer I was going to ask this as well.
How did you do it with the Zep tribute band Terry? Did you do a stick click
count in as well? How does Bonham do it live?
John leaded with his left hand .
You’re welcome!
Hello. Your videos have been very helpful. At the end of Black Dog on the
How The West Was Won cd Bonzo does a solo that I cannot figure out. Do you
have a video for that? Thanks very much for your help & your instructions.
Is that bad?
Two thumbs up…keep up the good work
In my experience, sheet music is rarely a good source for anything but a
rough sketch of a song. Ears are required.
You know i was about to type the same thing brother…terry always enjoy ur
vids man ..cheers from australia for making these vids .
Dude, with all due respect, if you’re going to make instructional drum
videos explain how to count the shit!
