The Queen of Light took her bow and then she turned to go
The Prince of Peace embraced the gloom and walked the night alone

Oh, dance in the dark night, sing to the morning light
The Dark Lord rides in force tonight, and time will tell us all

Oh, throw down your plow and hoe, race now to my bow

Side by side we wait the might, of the darkest of them all

I hear the horses thunder down in the valley below
I’m waiting for the angels of Avalon, waiting for the eastern glow

The apples of the valley hold the seeds of happiness
The ground is rich from tender care, which they do not forget, no, no
Dance in the dark night, sing to the morning light

The apples turn to brown and black, the tyrant’s face is red

Oh, war is the common cry, pick up your swords and fly
The sky is filled with good and bad, mortals never know

Oh well, the night is long, the beads of time pass slow
Tired eyes on the sunrise, waiting for the eastern glow

The pain of war cannot exceed the woe of aftermath
The drums will shake the castle wall, the Ringwraiths ride in black (ride on)

Sing as you raise your bow, (ride on) shoot straighter than before
No comfort has the fire at night that lights the face so cold

Oh, dance in the dark night, sing to the morning light
The magic runes are writ in gold to bring the balance back, bring it back

At last the sun is shining, the clouds of blue roll by
With flames from the dragon of darkness, the sunlight blinds his eyes

Oh, bring it back, bring it back…

Conceived by the gods, I love this song by Zep, it’s a masterpiece of
lyrical brilliance, my mind goes through a movie not unlike Lord of the
Rings when I hear it, so inspiring. Thanks for sharing Arin Kambitsis. :)

Boris Asselin says:

C’est vraiment génial ! Les images du Seigneur des anneaux collent
complétement au son de Led Zeppelin!

Shannon Reynolds says:

Awesome video, but it needed more Eowin in it. Just my thought.

Terry I says:

Beautifully done !
The story came out before the song . Did Led Zeppelin make the song with
Lord of the Rings in mind?

michael rowshan says:

people do not get it….but I do…awesome job on the video

forestsoceansmusic says:

Iluvatar bless you Arin. You made that song and Lord Of The Rings live for
me again.

I always thought that if ever they made a proper movie of it, then the
sound track should be Led Zeppelin (and Yes, and Focus, and some Emerson,
Lake & Palmer, and some Jethro Tull), and it needed to be an Art Film, and
it needed to be accurate to the book(s) (which I have read about 12 times
since I first read it in 1974).

But Hollywood got their filthy commercial hands on it and tarnished it.
The Hobbit even more so.

In the 1960s (which actually didn’t end until 1975), the avant garde and
art films were popular (thanks mostly to The Beatles). People were
smarter, more questioning, more discerning, and had more conscience &
consideration.

Too many were bought-off with 1970s excess.

Well done in your edit of the films to the music of those Englishmen most
responsible for making Tolkien popular again (in the early 1970s – he had
been somewhat forgotten in the early-mid ’60s). There are also references
to the Third Age of Middle Earth in their song Ramble On (kind of like a
modern summary of the Lay of Luthien and Beren).

In summary:

Those Were The Days, yes they were, those were the days
Those were their ways, miracles, everywhere, where are they now?
They’re gone!
(Ginger Baker / Mick Taylor)

Dal Cuinn says:

Love it

Mark Scalise says:

Nice work. :)

William Benson says:

Arin Kambitsis, you did a spectacular job putting this video collage
together. I have all three of the movies and both of the Hobbit movies (so
far) – and you have put the very best Zeppelin tune to it. Hopefully you
will do something with Ramble On and the Hobbit. (‘Twas in the darkest
depths of Mordor, I met a girls so fair. But Gollum, the Evil One, crept up
and slipped away with her, away with her, yeah…”

Veronica Gonzales says:

By the way LOVE the video!

Luzia Gonçalves says:

This comment is in no way endorsing Peter Jacksons marring of Arda…this
is arguably one of Zeppelins best song…set to (sadly) the only live
action imagery of Tolkien’s books we have…GREAT JOB…CRAPPY
MOVIES…READ A BOOK!!!!…FWIW the song is more accurate then the movies
