This could be my favorite LZ song….the bass, the words, the

Whoever, or whomever the stole it from, they crushed it.
‘Good artists borrow, great artists steal.’ Some of the shit Zeppelin did
with regard to “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” and some others was shameless.
But….if anyone is going to say they weren’t great artists, well, they’re
insane. And this whole idea that they stole “Stairway” is idiotic. I
think they copied 4 notes in the beginning. Please.
What was “a girl so fair” doing in the darkest depths of mordor?

That’s awesome he talks about meeting a girl in Mordor. It’s the ring
that’s the girl. Gollum took it an fell into lava. Lol the lead singer was
a huge Lord of the Rings fan

You may notice that in mordor he “met” a girl… The ring was never met in
mordor. Destroyed, yes. Created, okay. The ring was met by gollum in a
stream while he was still smeagol, you may remember. Then, again, the ring
was later met, by frodo’s grandfather, when he won it from gollum in a
riddle contest.
The girl’s a girl, or some way deeper meaning than ties into the lord of
the rings than what has been discussed, over-discussed, here.
There are scholars on the subject just of the lord of the rings, I’ve
heard. Maybe one of them…
(also, I mean, would you compare yourself to a hobbit in a song? I mean,

My cousin and I have been debating for years about this song.
He believes that it is a song about Frodo, but I’m fairly sure he’s wrong.
I’m 99% sure that it’s a song about Samwise.
My clues:
“In the Darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair.” ( He thinks this
refers to Frodo facing Shelob, but I think it’s Sam taking the burden of
the ring.)
“I’ve been this way ten years to the day…” (In the books Sam has a scene
in the final chapter where he clasps his chest and says ” I am wounded, and
it will never really heal.”)
Discuss.
He’d better be talking about the One ring, otherwise Gollum wouldn’t have
any business with some girl.
