Led Zeppelin “Dancing Days” guitar lesson. Today we’re using the Wampler Plexi-Drive to deliver the midrange “honk” and note definition of an early Marshall amp. When playing this song live, Jimmy Page keeps the guitar in Open G tuning but leaves off the slide so he can include some overdubs which are tricky with a bottleneck on. Open G chords tend to sound happier but Dancing Days uses some interesting phrasing that strays from your familiar Stones riffs. Multiple pull-offs are used on the B string and can be a challenge to play clean while keeping with this song’s heavy groove. Page’s live version also bounces between the main rhythm and the overdubbed arpeggio with keeps the bare essentials in the tune with just one guitarist. Enjoy your riff of the day guitar lesson.
Page…just so sickeningly creative.
Ottima lezione Grazie! Page per me è il massimo! Non dico il migliore ma i
suoi riff sono stupendi. Nessuno e mai stato come lui! I love Page
HEY MY FRIEND.NICE JOB.I HAVE DANCE VIDEOS FOR U.SUBSCRIBE MY CHANNEL.KETS

Great Lesson. The slow tempo really helps for getting it down. Thanks.

A+ Thanks Andy
perfect!
May I ask if you sell the Fender Humboldt Hot Rod V2? I can’t find it on
your site. Thanks! (Excellent lesson….really great)
The first time you listen to this song on the album closely it blows
everything you’ve ever heard out the window. So you go look for a live
version as it sounds at first like it might be slide or part slide, but you
can’t find anything showing page playing it live (can you?). So it’s great
to see this at slow speed and confirm it’s really the open tuning and
finger slide that make it. Some sort of magic to a 5 year period with
Jimmy Page around 1968-1973 that still works even when explained.
Thanks. Sounds great.
The actual lesson starts at 2:57
Where did you get the drum track or is that a live drummer?! Great lesson

Wow! Excellent. (7 people accidentally hit the dislike button–couldn’t
have been intentional.)
Anyone else feel like they just took a guitar lesson from Paul Rudd?
Nice, used to play it with standard tuning years ago, way before Youtube.
What a nice tool and way to see that you were completely wrong when trying
to figure it out on your cassette tape. Thanks!
What LP model is that ?….the pups are exposed
Thanks for including the tab!
More Zep! Andy, could you do down by the sea, or figure out the effects on
night flight? Keep rockin’
Well that’s a Zeppelin song you don’t hear every day.
Really nice playing at the start!
great lesson!! suggest to next lesson: watermelon in easter (zappa!). tks a
lot as always!
Andy always dials in the sweetest tone for these videos. Spot on.
Dancing Days is a perfect testament to Jimmy Page’s amazing composition
skills. Nobody else comes with parts quite like he does. And Andy, you’re a
beast!
Any chance of getting a Sex and Candy lesson? Seems like a song you’d do,
and one i’d very much like to learn
Some Them Crooked Vultures stuff, please!
need some who, yes, and pearl jam lessons
Seems like this also influenced Queens of The Stone Age (this could
actually be a QOTSA song).
I LOVE LED ZEPPELIN <3
awesome lesson!! thank you so much
Great
Awesome lesson man!
This would be more fun if we could get the backing track (the drums)
Thanks a ton for these!!
Greate dude, grettings from Argentina! Santiago

It never ceases to amaze me how refreshing Led Zeppelin licks can sound
even after they’re 40 years old. Timeless band.
Hi Andy, great video. Just wondering what pickups you are running in your
LP? Cheers.
also, great teaching method Andy. I like the approach. I’ve learned four
songs this evening thanks to you. Songs like this track are especially
difficult to figure out by ear, due to the tuning.
Yes yes… F YES!!!!
It never ceases to amaze me how fresh and interesting Zeppelin licks still
sound to this day. Timeless music!
How about using the RAH for just one damn Zeppelin tune? Come on!
nailed it again Andy.
Hey Andy, what are you guys using for the backing tracks stuff. I’ve been
searching for good ones for years…
Never heard this song before, but it really really sounds awesome!
ROCK ON
