“It’s just my humble opinion, but it’s one that I believe in.”
“Led Zeppelin IV”
Atlantic Records
Release: 11/8/1971
Rating: 4/5
Favorite tracks: Going To California, Stairway To Heaven, Black Dog, Misty Mountain Hop
Least faves: The Battle of Evermore, Four Sticks
Misty Mountain Hop is very underrated. Led Zeppelin IV is the complete
package – great songs great cover. I don’t agree about Battle of Evermore,
I think it is perfect, I think I prefer it to Stairway. As an English
person though one of the minuses about Led Zeppelin is that Plant sings in
an American accent.
5/5 for Zeppelin IV my brother…but still enjoyed the critique. Come to
think of it, you really can’t go wrong with any of Led Zeppelin’s first six
albums: LZ-1, LZ-2, LZ-3, LZ-4, Houses Of The Holy, & Physical Graffiti.
IMHO the greatest streak of successive rock brilliance ever recorded.
Arguably the best album ever with arguably the best song written with
Stairway to Heaven! I love Plant’s voice, and my dad named me after him!
His wedding song was a Plant song, Sea of Love. Led Zeppelin is my favorite
band, but Physical Graffiti is my favorite album by them. My senior quote
was actually from Stairway to Heaven! I love how Going to California shows
a softer side of the band, and Rock and Roll must be blasted at full volume
no matter where you are. It’s my dad’s favorite song by the band, and I
cannot help blasting it with all the windows down while driving!
Who thinks led zeppelin are American wtf!
5/5, definition of a perfect album in my opinion, I have it on vinyl!
Led Zeppelin is a great band. Gotta love the influence they’ve left on the
genre. As predictable as it is, this is probably my favorite Zeppelin
album, not totally into classic rock seeing as that a majority of my life
has been taken up by 90’s-2010’s alt rock, but I definitely would not be if
it weren’t for bands like Zeppelin. On a different note, I don’t know if
you take requests or not, but a cool one to be seen reviewed by you would
be Pearl Jam’s “Ten”. That’s a classic and would be interesting to see a
review for considering how interesting it is in terms of its development
and such. Just putting it out there though.
This album is without a question 6/5 for me – every song is incredible.
All the string instruments and vocals are perfect. The drums on “when the
levee breaks” have the BEST tone quality
by 4 out of 5 you mean 5 out of 5 right?
Led Zeppelin 4 us the greatest album of allc time in my opinion
Totally awesome album, and great review :3
I love Misty Mountain Hop, maybe because I wish I were a flower child =[ I
woulda made such an awesome hippie chick too! (now I’m just rambling!)
My all time favorite Led Zep song is Houses of the Holy off of Physical
Graffiti (for some reason not on Houses of the Holy the album)
I’m a lot like you man, I’m not really into classic rock either, I’m more
into punk rock, hard rock and heavy metal. Bands I’m into are kinda like
the bands your into I like Green Day, Blink 182, Metallica and others. We
have a couple things in common don’t we?
Sweet Review. Here’s my Zeppelin ranking:
5- IV,HOTH
4.5- Physical Graffiti, I, II
4- III, Presence
3.5- In Through the Outdoor
3- Coda.
Also which Zeppelin albums have you not listened to yet?
This one and Presence would be my favourite LZ albums.
I’m more of a Pink Floyd guy when it comes to Classic Rock albums but this
is one of the greatest records I’ve heard 9.5/10 for me. It’s still not of
my favorites but I do appreciate the work that went into it.
What a coincidence I just downloaded this album like last week.
One of the best albums ever. Period.
you should reveiw elliot smiths stuff
What about When the Levee Breaks? Such a good song
perfect album
this album’s a classic
