Ron Bradford says:

I actually still listen to most of my Zep stuff on recording cassettes.
Years ago I recorded it off CD’s onto high bias cassettes and believe me,
it brings out the music in a very sharp and crisp way but im still gonna
get these remastered CD’s to see how good they sound

Kraig Highnam says:

you’re awesome haha

Chas Mcghee says:

If you are really looking forward to the remastered Deluxe Edition CD of
Physical Graffifti, just go on Amazon and search up Led Zeppelin Physical
Graffifti Deluxe Edition CD and you should see it on Amazon for just $20
which is a decent price.

Koon Troll says:

You can listen to the tracks in this playlist, Led Zeppelin (TuriMuzik)

Peter Kent says:

Great review Larry. The photos in the booklets look great. I have always
loved the 3 albums in the middle of their discography the best. They are
Zeppelin 4, Houses of the holy and my favourite Physical Graffiti. Enjoy
the Cds.

N52523 says:

Can you lend me a Quarter?

Canadian Studmuffin says:

Led Zeppelin IV and Houses Of The Holy Deluxe Edition reviews.

Michael Patchett says:

Both albums are A plus in my book being a led fan i have enjoyed the
remasters so far my fav album is the song remains the same 2007 live
remastered version I hope when Jimmy remasters that would have some more
tracks on it. Ya just like what you said with the alternate discs on each
remasters so far I was not happy with them because I thought there was
going to be live shows on each disc not just Led Zepp I all in all very
enjoying to listen to my Fav songs of zepp are Stair way and Thank You

donaldrocks101103 says:

Right after I watch this, I went to Best Buy and bought the CD deluxe of
3,4, and Houses Of The Holy!
I already have 1 and 2!

peartfaldo says:

1:46 if you hold the gatefold picture of LZ4 up to a mirror with the
mountain against the mirror its a picture of the head of a dragon looking
at you. the guy is standing on its head.

Beatlecat1 says:

Nice Led Zeppelin reviews, Larry.

Matthew Phillips says:

I am going to wait and see if they bundle ALL of the new remasters in
(another?) boxset, have you heard any mention of something like that?

Would be kinda of nice, as I have their two previous CD boxsets — which
comprise their entire catalogue — BUT they are mixed tracklistings (i.e.
intentionally not in the actual album order and re-sequenced by Jimmy Page).

Gotta be something they’re thinking about for 2015.

It’s also a shame they messed with the back side of the album artwork, I
agree w/ you Larry. I don’t get the reversed image artwork at all. I was
mortified when I first saw those reversed images as I thought those were
going to be the new album covers, yikes.

D’yer Maker: Is pronounced like “JER-MAKE-ER”, a’la a crude way of saying
“Jamaica”, the home of reggae music.

mattxreade says:

If you wanted the artwork to be true to the original vinyl you should have
bought the single disc versions. This is actually one of the main reasons I
will not buy the deluxe editions because I do not like the strange negative
pictures on the back. If I ever want to listen to the bonus material it is
on Spotify.

Mark Hirst says:

I was going to point out the correct pronunciation of D’yer Maker as I did
on one of your previous videos, but I see a few people already have. Rhymes
more with “Jamaica”. What the hell would be the meaning of something
pronounced “Dire Maker”? It doesn’t make any friggin’ sense, and yet so
many people say it that way. What the hell is a “Dire Maker”? Anyway, great
video. Those companion songs seem like a real waste of time, for the most
part. That’s why I bought the 1 disc vinyl editions.

sethdaniel31 says:

Hey Larry, picked up LZ2 and HotH today. My 2 fav Zep albums. Went with the
single disc only…from your reviews and other research I did, it just
didnt seen worth it, even though Im a big fan. Ive heard LaLa and the extra
version on No Quarter on Spotify and figure I can always here those extra
tracks elsewhere. FYI, the single disc version booklets do not have as many
pictures as yours, but the back of the cd covers are true to the old
albums.

Owen Concannon says:

I got into Zeppelin about 4 years ago and they are now my favorite band. I
had heard about rumours of these remasters as that point so I held out from
buying the any of the albums. So hearing these for the first time the whole
way through on cd is awesome! My favorite Zeppelin albums are a tossup
between Led Zeppelin IV, Houses of the Holy, and Physical Grafitti, even
though I though I think they’re all good.

Ryan Lane says:

Are you gonna review Yessongs?

kenbefound says:

Nice review Larry. I’m glad you admitted the companion discs are not all
that they could be. Yes, the differences are in too many cases subtle,
which seems like a lost opportunity. There are some much better alternate
versions of these songs that can sometimes be found on YouTube. I have not
heard anyone speculate this but I wonder if they are saving the really good
stuff for another campaign. But as you indicated, the real star here is the
remastering of the main work as everyone seems to love what they’ve done.

Daniel Hofmann says:

Well done Larry. I just bought IV and Houses Of The Holy on Vinyl today.
The 1 LP edition with the original artwork. It’s so cool and the sound is
excellent. Love to hear Stairway to Heaven in the remasterd version. I
think every Led Zeppelin fan is happy with the new remasterd series. Hope
you too. :-)

Tim Slade says:

AWESOME review Larry!!! I hope the companion disc to Physical Graffiti is
more like the Led Zeppelin III disc as well! Good job!

stewart conacher says:

Thanks for reviewing these.I was interested to know if the deluxe versions
were worth buying..I think I will buy the single versions.

00jets says:

I have given up trying to make you see that fact that Houses of the Holy is
their greatest album. But to say this is their worst produced album out of
the 1st 5 albums is just irresponsible. It is without a doubt their best
produced album! That is why you did not hear much much of a difference
with Song Remains the Same, you can not improve on it much!

Strat Pack says:

Hey Larry! D’Yer Maker is pronounced ‘Jamaica’. Its a pun by the band
because its a reggae type tune. :-)

SukotsutoMaki says:

John Bonham was such a crazy bastard, it is a shame that he passed away, I
do not think anyone knew who he really was.

Dave J says:

Just for you and just for you just like Ken Domik

dangerousrhythm77 says:

and you are totally right about the negative rear cover photo being silly.
not nit-picking at all

LouiePlaysDrums says:

“D’yer Ma’ker” is pronounced as “Jamaica” or “Jamaiker”. Is still pronounce
it like it looks though (as “Dire Maker”)

Junglehop Films says:

Great reviews Larry! You’ve inspired me to give these a listen again after
many years not listening to Led Zeppelin.

dangerousrhythm77 says:

wow i guess jimmy is doing a lot more to the recordings than just pumping
them up louder, as is the case with so many other remasters. good to hear
(no pun intended)
