fat cigar in my mouth and a shotgun on my back riding through a desert of
zombies trying to get at me.

Led Zeppelin stole music?
idgaf. Survival of the fittest. And if they hadn’t took the music, it would
have been lost forever and forgotten like most old early 20th century blues
was. Get the fuck over. I realize they ripped people off more so than
others, but there’s not a band alive who didn’t take a already copyrighted
song they liked, and fucked with it a little to make their version
unnoticeable from the original.
Original singers and song writers of blues music owe a great debt of
gratitude to anyone or any group that takes what they’ve written, which
very likely would never have been heard of by anyone at all, improves it
and releases a better version of the original authors work to an infinitely
larger number of listeners. Most original blues tunes, if they hadn’t been
redone., would have sadly gone unknown forever if it were not for the
remakes done by such groups as Led Zeppelin, or George Thorougood, or Z Z
Top to name a few.
When I was in sixth grade, the textbook for my music class had a page on
how Led Zeppelin started metal…. I remember bickering with my teacher
about how I wanted to see Led Zeppelin and she said that usually they were
too stoned to sing their songs. I told her I didn’t care because they were
my gods. And I still stand by that statement. Led Zeppelin
forever,everyone.

This is my best friends favorite song.. So.. Yeah.. XD
Greatest band ever no ifs or buts, but they ARE NOT a heavy metal
band.Heavy metal originated with Black Sabbath who are just freaking
amazing followed closely by Deep purple.Man those of us who were kids and
teenagers in the 60s and seventies were spoiled incredibly with the music
we had. king crimson, creme, the who, Hendrix,Pink Floyd hell the list is
endless,and the bands they inspired like Metallica,Megadeth, Slayer its
just amazing how much great music there is but of them all Zeppelin are my
favorite and have been for almost forty years. But if you want to hear a
great band thats only about ten years old check out The Sword from Austin
Texas, those boys rock.
My favourite band but never forget white man stole the blues from African
Americans. If you have any racist replies, fck off!

zepp/plant didn’t write the song exactly as remembered (who remembers it
exactly as it was remembered?), but they made it their own!!! who did it

Prophetic.
This will always be my favorite Led Zep song. I noticed that the lyric –
“If you don’t know about Chicago” is sometimes printed and sung by other
bands as “If you don’t go to Chicago” and “If your going down to Chicago.”
Often Plants lyrics are difficult to hear. It’s great to see so many of the
younger generation appreciate Led Zeppelin. This bands longevity in the
minds and souls of musicians and fans alike is a testament to their
combined musical genius.
The lyrics to this song (written by Memphis Minnie in 1927) are based on
The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927. African-American plantation workers
were forced to work on the levee at gunpoint, piling sandbags to save the
neighboring towns. Hence the lyrics, “I works on the levee, mama both night
and day, I works so hard, to keep the water away.” After the levee
breached, blacks were not allowed to leave the area, and were forced to
work in the relief and cleanup effort, living in camps with limited access
to the supplies which were coming in. Many left at the first chance since
there was no work in the Delta after the destruction of all of the
plantations; hence the lyrics, “Oh cryin’ won’t help you, prayin’ won’t do
no good” and “I’s a mean old levee, cause me to weep and moan, gonna leave
my baby, and my happy home” (thanks, Laura – franklin, TN)
Memphis Minnie McCoy (born Lizzie Douglas), was a Blues artist who recorded
this in 1929. Robert Plant had the record in his collection. (thanks, Nick

Zeppelin. I’m not knocking Zeppelin, they’re one of all time favs from my

I think “the Rover” is better, imo.

You know I have to laugh..and cry when I see some of these wuxic artists
that can’t hold a candle to Led Zeppelin getting over a 100 million hits on
