Led Zeppelin – The Lemon Song
Album – Led Zeppelin II
John Paul Jones’ complex bass performance, which is heavily funk influenced. During interviews afterwards, he said that he had improvised during the entire song.
lyrics
I should have quit you a long time ago
Ooh-whoa, yeah, yeah, long time ago
I wouldn’t be here, my children
down on this killin’ floor
I should have listened, baby, a-to my second mind
Oh, I should have listened, baby, to my second ma-ah-hah-ah-ind
Everytime I go away and leave ya, darlin’
you send me the blues way down the line
Hey, yeah-yeah-yeah, keep up, yeah, oh, yeah
Babe-yeahh, yeah, treat me right, baby
Ooh-whoa, whoa-whoa, my, my, my, my-hah
Now take it down a little bit
People tell me baby can’t be satisfied-a
Try to worry me, b-ba-baby
but I never did end up guit-chewin’ myself
People worry, baby, can’t keep you satisfied
Huh, let me tall ya, babe
Ah, you ain’t nothin’ but a nn-two-bit, no-good jive
I went to sleep last night, I work as hard as I can-a
I bring home my money, you take my money, give it to another man
I should have quite you, baby-a, oh, such a long time ago-ho
I wouldn’t be hear with all my troubles
nn-down on this killin’ floor
Squeeze me, babe, ’till the juice runs down my leg
Do, squeeze, squeeze me, baby, until the juice runs down my leg
The way you squeeze my lemon-a
I’m gonna fall right outta bed, ‘ed, ‘ed, bed, yeah
Yeah
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Juice, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
Hey, babe, babe, babe, babe, oh, no
No, no, now, now
I’m gonna leave my children down on this killin’ floor

The rock pants are on…oooh yes i’m in the mood lol
Heres the first one of a few rock favourites.
I would trade years off my life to hear this live now that I’m not quite as
under the influence as I once was.
say what you will, for every song that may have sounded a bit like another,
they made three wholy original classics. stop hating
Great song from 1969 that came from Zeppelin’s forte of blues, rock and
folk mixed with male libido. Great riffs and fretwork from Page, Signature
Crisp Crack Boom from Bonham, Wizardry bass from Jones and Soulful vocal
talent from Plant.
*I should have quit you, long time ago.*
*I wouldn’t be here, down on this killin’ floor.*

They should have named this the “Bad Ass, Kick Ass, Blues And Bass And Rock
And Roll Riff” song, or BAKABABARARR song. I’m just putting it out there.
Led Zeps version of a Howling Wolf song. They did write some of this song
by themselves, however.
fucken old man pussy music…for christ sake…get fucken real u old homo’s
I love this song
Howlin Wolf brought me here
My first thoughts playing this is Holy Fuck!! The drums tho. The guitar.
And i just bought this album last week at a thift store so i can listen to
this all the time now how it was meant to be heard.
apparently the guitar playing was stolen for another band’s song, someone
verify this shit

THIS SONG KICKS BOOTY !!!!!!
The bass on this song is kicking EVERYBODY’s ass!!!!!!
love the bass
Jimmy Page is the ultimate rock remixer. He took good riffs and made them
great.
I wish he and the band had given the originators recognition. Back in the
days before the internet, you really didn’t have to reference people for
their ideas.
Всегда помни, когда жизнь вручает тебе “Lemon “, попроси текилы и соли… и
пригласи меня!
Led Zeppelin – The Lemon Song
A good tribute to the delta blues guys, jacked up some in parts but roots
none the less…
Zeppelin displaying their great powers at their absolute finest
well yeah thats a nice combination between the bass, the guitar and the

Every time I hear this, it really drives home the fact that today’s music
is crap.
Oh the lyrics.
One of the sweetest album covers it is way cool!
Damn, Robert Plants voice sounds dated…cringe~
Such a Hot song
Great song. Too bad Led Zep didn’t give credit to Howlin’ Wolf who
basically wrote it when he wrote Killin’ Floor. C’mon boys.

La mejor rola de led Zeppelin
While I think it’s impossible for me to name my favorite Led Zeppelin
album, Led Zeppelin II rotates thru as my ‘fave’ more often than others.
This song is among the best from the band and the best in rock. IMO.
